Christita Weber, CRNA, MS

  • Ms. Weber obtained her basic nursing education from Barton County Community College in Great Bend, Kansas. She followed with a Bachelor of General Science degree from Fort Hays University in Hays, Kansas.

    Ms. Weber earned a Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesiology degree from the University of Kansas Medical Center. She currently is pursuing doctoral studies in Education.

  • In addition to directing clinical education, Ms. Weber works part time in the clinical setting providing guidance to students and teaches basics of anesthesia in the fall semester. To enhance a smooth transition to the clinical setting, Ms. Weber prepares the planning and teaching of a skills lab to Level I students.

    Administratively, she schedules students for affiliate rotations and meets regularly with clinical CRNA liaisons at each affiliate via on-site visits according to AANA standards. In their decision-making process about a career in nurse anesthesia, potential applicants meet with Ms. Weber to make appointments to shadow an SRNA in the operating room and visit with current students.

    Ms. Weber also takes part in student advising along with other clinical faculty and serves as advisor/chair for students' thesis/field project research.

  • She has completed original research in the area of Career Choices for the Registered Nurse and has research interest in Fatigue and It's Impact on Learning. She also has an interest in simulator learning and the transition to clinical practice.

  • In addition to her duties at the medical center, Ms. Weber is a captain in the Army Reserves and spends much of her spare time training with her reserve unit at Topeka, Kansas.
