American Association of Nurse Anesthetist Foundation Researcher of the Year 2009
Commander John Maye, CRNA, PhD, USN, received the Researcher of the Year Award, which is presented to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the practice of anesthesia through clinical research.
Maye is assistant professor and director of research at the Graduate School of Nursing, Uniformed Services, University of the Health Sciences, Bethesda, Md. He has been in service since 1990 and has earned a number of medals over the years from the Navy, including three Navy Achievement Medals, two Meritorious Service Medals, and one Navy Commendation Medal. He has written or contributed to a number of peer-reviewed published articles and book chapters, and has himself acted as a peer reviewer or editor on prestigious publications. His research and teaching efforts have spanned his career, and he was honored for both the quality of his work and his contributions to the profession.
Maye graduated from the University of Kansas in 1992 with his MS in Nurse Anesthesia.
