WHAT GRADUATES SAY ABOUT KU NURSE ANESTHESIA EDUCATION
“Where I am working now, the CRNA's just started to do the hearts and things are going well. I have to admit that the experiences that I received both at KU Med and Joplin have made the transition into the real world very easy. My coworkers ask me for advice about the hearts because almost all their programs didn't provide a solid CV experience.
I would like to say thank you and all of the staff and faculty for the education and training I received. You said we would thank you when we were done and I thought "yeah right"!!! However, now that I am out and working I realize the great education that I received. Again, thanks for everything and best wishes.”

“My first day (on the job) in the OR I was left alone, did not see my staff again; they must have had confidence in me. All the CRNA’s that come to work for our group need to be one month with another CRNA for “orientation.” I was left alone by lunchtime and was told just call us if you have any problems. A year later and I still have not called them into my room and that includes induction/emergence, OB, etc.”

“I have no doubt that I was VERY well prepared to enter practice and provide excellent care not only to my civilian patients, but also to the numerous trauma patients I cared for while on deployment in the military. I feel confident to practice solo or within a group?”

“I have not had any problem working as a locum tenums since graduation. I feel very confident in my anesthetic abilities. Being independent early in our clinical experience was key to fostering our own practice and judgment. Thank you.”
– 2002 Graduate
“KU students are definitely ready to practice anesthesia when they graduate, especially compared to the students who rotate through our facility.”
